Training week of 6/16

EVERYONE:

  • The training plan is here.

  • Don’t forget to fill out the attendance form.

  • This is the last week of the summer schedule! Next week a lot of groups shift for summer.

  • Registration for summer programs: we’re shutting this down for realz soon. DO IT via your Craftsbury membership portal.

JUNIORS:

  • 3000m test results: are with all our other test results. There were too many of you for us to reliably take splits so we wrote down what we could… sorry! Good work out there.

  • CommRow: we’re again teaming up with our rowing pals to offer junior skiers the opportunity to do our Community Rowing program for a very discounted rate. The free intro class was last week; if you want to continue, get a $50 “beginner CommRow pass” here (unlimited uses for the remainder of the season) and then sign up for Thursday rowing sessions as desired in the “classes” part of the membership portal. This is a special thing for CSC junior skiers only.

  • Mt Mansfield Sunday: we will be meeting here. It’s the first parking lot on your right if you pull in like you’re driving to the main base lodge; across 108 from the Barnes Camp Visitor Center. You can meet us there, shoes on/ready to rumble at 9am sharp, or catch the van from COC at 8:00am, or meet us at the Morrisville Hannaford at 8:25am. Indicate what you’re doing on the attendance form. We have applied for group use permits for all our team hike/adventures but still need to be mindful of breaking up into reasonably sized groups, which we will be doing. Bring a way to comfortably carry water/snacks/a layer/etc. Our shorter routes should get back to the vans around 12:00noon; our longer groups closer to 1:00pm. Vans are tied to longer groups; expected return to COC is ~2:30pm. Pack a lunch for after, a towel, change of clothes, etc.

  • Spring meetings: at this point, if you haven’t done one, reach out to us.

U14s:

  • Holy smokes y’all were speed demons at the 3000m run this morning. Keep it up! You can find your times on our test results.

  • See notes above re: Sunday’s workout on Mansfield with the juniors.

BKL:

  • First day of summer BKL! We’re pumped to have you back.

BIATHLETES:

  • Practice as normal this week for Wednesday U15/U17+ and Tuesday Adults.

  • BKL biathlon starts this week as well. Reminder that biathlon is limited to pre-registered participants only.

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  • Bounding poles: y’all are always welcome to borrow bounding poles if needed. We ask that you please take from the piles in the skate shack rather than the clubhouse, as that helps us stay organized and also helps keep some pole tips sharp for winter.
