USBA Nominates National Teams and Development Groups for 2016-2017; 4 GRP Athletes Included

The U.S. Biathlon International Competition Committee recently published their nominations for the 2016-2017 National Team and Development Groups, and four Green Racing Project biathletes were included as nominees- Susan Dunklee, Clare Egan, Emily Dreissigacker, and Alex Howe.

For the Women's National A Team, Susan Dunklee was renominated after an incredible season that included a silver medal in the 7.5k World Cup sprint in Presque Isle, and culminated with a 14th place overall ranking on the IBU Biathlon World Cup. Clare Egan also received her second year of A Team nomination after a personal best finish of 16th in World Cup 1 in Ostersund, Sweden. Members of the A Team have the opportunity to live and train full-time in Lake Placid at the Olympic Training Center.

Emily Dreissigacker, in her first full season as a biathlete, received a nomination to the Women's National Senior Development Group, which includes three Youth/Junior female members as well. Emily represented the US three times this season on the IBU Cup and had a best placing of 44th in a 7.5k sprint in Arber, Germany. Alex Howe also was named to the Men's National Senior Development Group, along with two other senior men and two youth/junior men. Alex had multiple NorAm podiums this season, including a win in La Patrie, Quebec, two victories in Valcartier, Quebec, and a win in Canmore, Alberta earlier in the season.
