GRP Summer U23 Program
We are pleased to welcome this year’s cohort of Summer U23 athletes. These skiers and biathletes will train with the GRP and work at the Center throughout the summer months. Craftsbury Ski Club's Jake Barton will head up the program. If you see any of them around the Center please give them a warm welcome!
Sam Stertz
Mount Itasca Biathlon, Sirdal Ski, Michigan Tech Nordic Ski Team
Sam joins us from the Midwest, where he grew up skiing and competing in biathlon at Mt. Itasca. Sam currently attends Michigan Tech University as an Environmental Science and Sustainability Major with an environmental policy concentration. At MTU he competes in nordic skiing, but he has also competed multiple times internationally in biathlon at the IBU Youth/Junior World Championships. He has been a member of the US Biathlon Junior National Team and in 2021 trained as a member of the Sirdal Biathlon Team in Norway.
Maggie McGee
Craftsbury Ski Club, Williams College
Maggie just finished her Sophomore year at Williams College, where she is a Global Studies and History Major. Originally from Hyde, VT, Maggie has been training with the Craftsbury Ski Club since she was a junior. Her best results include an 18th and 23rd at the 2023 Bates Carnival.

Sage Grossi
Onion River Nordic, Craftsbury Ski Club
Sage Grossi is from Montpelier, Vermont and trains with the Onion River Nordic Team and Craftsbury Ski Club. He has an interest to pursue either biology, premed, physics or economics at Bates College this upcoming year.
Wes Campbell
Park City Ski and Snowboard, Soldier Hollow, Michigan Tech
Wes is a rising Junior in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering Double Major at Michigan Tech University. Last year he qualified for FIS Junior World Championships and was 1st in the Junior Classic Sprints at US Nationals. Wes has also competed in biathlon, and has been a member of the US Biathlon Junior National team and an IBU Youth/Junior World Championships qualifier.
Quincy Massey-Bierman
Craftsbury Ski Club, Middlebury College
Quincy will be a Junior at Middlebury this year and is majoring in Earth and Climate Science. She had to take some time away from competition last year due to injury, but is back and ready to come back stronger than ever. is a 2023 NCAA qualifier where she placed 30th and 31st.
Jack Young
Craftsbury Ski Club, Colby College
Jack just finished his junior year at Colby College, where he is majoring in education. This winter Jack had a breakout season, getting to race in the Canmore and Minneapolis FIS World Cups and placing 11th place in the skate sprint qualifier in Canmore. Jack was also named to the US Ski Team Development Team.
Finn Sweet
Craftsbury Ski Cub, University of Vermont
Finn is originally from Waterbury, VT and has been a member of the Craftsbury Ski Club since he was little. He will be a senior at the University of Vermont this year. Finn was a member of the 2024 FIS U23 World Championships team. Finn has had many top results including podium finishes on the Eastern Cup/EISA Carnival circuit and top-10 at US Nationals.
Aiden Casey
Craftsbury Ski Club, Dartmouth Ski Team
Aiden, originally from Craftsbury, is a rising Junior at Dartmouth College as a Geography and Pre-Med major. His best finish last season was 18th at the St. Michaels Carnival in the Skate Sprint. Aiden plays piano and bass and has also served as a Vermont Legislative Page. In addition to skiing and school he enjoys mountain biking, pickup basketball, canoeing, camping, and Formula 1 racing.
Tzevi Schwartz
Craftsbury Ski Club, Williams College
Tzevi is a physics and math major at Williams College. He is a local to the greater Craftsbury area and his older sister Rena has trained with the U23 program in the past. Trevi’s best results include a 3rd place in the Junior Men’s 22km Classic at SuperTour Finals and 19th place in the UVM Carnival Classic Sprint.
Trey Jones
Craftsbury, GMVS, SSWSC, CU Boulder
Trey is a Media Production major at University of Colorado, Boulder. In his Freshman year, Trey has some impressive results, playing 8th in the Skate Sprint at US Nationals and 11th place in an Italian Alpin Cup. Trey is a native of Steamboat Springs, (SSWSC) CO, but has already spent time out east going to GMVS and skiing with the Craftsbury Ski Club. Trey was recently named to the US Ski Team Development Team.
Jack Christner
Frost Mountain, Middlebury High School, Middlebury College
Jack is a rising Senior in Sustainable Architecture Major at Middlebury College. He is captain of the Nordic Team and two-time NCAA qualifier. His top result was 2nd in the Dartmouth Carnival 20km Mass Start. Jack has spend some of his summers training with other programs in CO and ID, but has returned to his home state of VT for this summer.
Mae Whitcomb
Holderness Nordic Club, Holderness School, Gunstock Nordic, College of St. Scholastica
Mae is an Exercise Physiology major at The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. She is originally from Holderness, NH where she attended the Holderness School and competed for Gunstock Nordic. Some of her top results last year were 9th place at CCSA Regionals in the 20k classic and 11th place in the DXC Cup 7.5k classic.
Meg Voisin
Craftsbury Ski Club

Meg is a high school senior graduating this spring and will be attending Bates College in the fall. She competed for both the Craftsbury Ski Club and Montpelier High School and had top placing in many high school races.
Brian Bushey
GMVS, University of Utah
Brian Bushey, originally from Montpelier, VT, is a rising junior at the University of Utah where he majors in Environmental Studies. Brian has been a member of the Youth Olympic Team, the 2023-24 US Ski Team Development Team, and is a multiple time FIS World Junior Team member. His top result last year was fourth in the 15K classic at the Montana State Invitational.
