GRP Skiing 2014-15

Last Updated: 25.Apr.2014

The Green Racing Project is happy to announce the addition of a new skier for 2014-15:  local skier, and long-time Craftsbury Nordic athlete Kaitlynn Miller will be joining the team for the coming season.

Miller grew up in Elmore, Vermont, racing for Craftsbury in high school, and was a five-time member of New England’s Junior National Team. In 2010 she won a junior national title in the OJ (now U20) classic sprint and 10K classic. She attended Bowdoin for her college career, where she raced for the Polar Bears, qualifying for NCAAs in 2013 and 2014. Kaitlynn was a biology and environmental studies major and a visual art minor. She looks forward to applying her ecological background to projects at the Center and helping coach Bill Koch and junior skiers.

As in years past, we were faced with an impressive number and quality of applicants. We thank one and all for applying and wish all applicants the best in their endeavors.

Departing the team is Pat O'Brien. Pat's GRP career was perhaps highlighted by his World Cup starts last winter in Quebec City and Canmore, but forming the foundation of those starts were many top results on the SuperTour and other National caliber races, plus more wins and podiums regionally:  he won the Eastern Cup this past winter for instance. Pat's skill as a forester and woodsman will also be missed at the Center; many hours of his work has helped to shape the Center ski and bike trails into what they are presently. Thanks for sharing your time and talents with us the past several years Pat.

While many of you will already know Kaitlynn from her club involvement, don't hesitate to introduce yourself and join us in welcoming her back to Craftsbury!
