IBU Cup

Across the pond in Martell, the IBU Cup weekend kicked off with a sprint. In the women's race, Emily Dreissigacker finished 59th with four misses. She was followed by Hallie Grossman in 68th. On the men's side, Alex Howe finished 78th. The race weekend continued with another sprint in which all the GRP biathletes improved on their previous results. Emily placed 56th and Hallie finished in 63rd. For the men, Alex finished 77th. Emily was the only GRP athlete to qualify for the pursuit in which she finished 45th with only 4 misses. IBU Cup racing action continues next weekend in Arber, Germany.

World Cup

After a break for the holidays, World Cup racing resumed this past weekend in Oberhof. In the sprint, both Susan Dunklee and Clare Egan didn't quite have the races they were looking for. Susan finished 50th with four misses. Clare was close behind in 52nd with two misses. In the following day's pursuit, both biathletes moved up with Susan placing 44th and Clare 49th. Susan was the only American to qualify for the mass start. She had an impressive performance finishing 9th with only three misses. Stay tuned for more World Cup racing in Ruhpolding next weekend.
