The double of Green Racing Project athletes John Graves (Cincinnati, OH) and Ben Dann (Pound Ridge, NY) finished racing at World Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland on Sunday, finishing fourth in the B Final.

With a time of 6:24.07, Graves and Dann were six seconds back from the winners of the B Final, Serbia, who rowed the course in a time of 6:18.47. The overall winners of the event were the Croatian brothers of Martin and Valent Sinkovic. They won the A Final 2 seconds ahead of second place Germany, with a time of 6:14.79.

Following a training training period between World Cup II and World Cup III, where Graves and Dann rowed in Sarnen, Switzerland, the double had a full weekend of racing. The two started off the World Cup missing an automatic bid to the A/B Semifinal, losing to eventual A Finalist crews from New Zealand and Australia. Sent to the reps, Graves and Dann battled it out with doubles from Spain and Denmark, taking the lead from Denmark in the last 500. With the repechage win, the Craftsbury double moved on to the A/B semifinal, where they finished fifth, two spots out of the A Final, behind competitive crews from Germany, Australia, Italy and Norway.

World Cup III ended a month of competition and training in Europe for Graves and Dann. They will return to Craftsbury and rejoin the team to begin preparations for Senior Trials II in West Windsor, NJ, August 2nd-5th.
