TNR #3: Team Sprint Results
COC Tuesday Night Racers celebrated New Year’s Eve with a rollicking team sprint. 28 teams of two tackled a short sprint course in the upper and lower fields, with each racer completing three laps, for six laps total per team. The relay exchange zone thus saw a total of 640 tags as teammates metaphorically “passed the baton” for each lap – all in under 22 minutes!
The winning team consisted of Jack Young and Jed Kurts, who completed the six laps in a blisteringly fast 10:15.5. They were followed in second place by Cormac Leahy and Orion Cenkl in 10:36.6, with Charlie Krebs and Makail Tipton taking third in 10:42.5. Liam and Maggie McGee formed the top mixed-gender team, finishing eighth overall in 11:56.1. Ruth Krebs and Meg Voisin were the top all-female team, taking 12th in a time of 12:59.0.
Full results can be found here. Results from this race will not contribute points towards racers’ series standings, but participation will count towards number of races completed in order to be eligible for overall series prizes.
Thank you to Keith Woodward for grooming and setting up the course, and all participants for joining the fun (and for a nearly 100% pre-registration rate!). You can pre-register here for the rest of the series, and are strongly encouraged to do so. Next week returns to 5k racing, as we run a classic mass start on Kirby’s Challenge Course. See you there!
