Training week of 3/3

EVERYONE:

  1. Attendance form keep it up, y’all.

  2. Keep an eye on Slack as we get into some rainy, gross weather.

  3. “When do programs wrap up?” The last week of practices for most groups will be the week of 3/10. Final practices will be 3/16 (for those with Sunday practices).

  4. End-of-season dress-up relays and potluck: will be on Tuesday, March 18th, at 4:00pm. The following day (Weds 3/19) is our super-bad-weather back-up date.

  5. Eastern Spring Series and NENSA Jamboree: this is at Craftsbury the weekend of 3/22-3/23. Lots going on! Learn more here.

JUNIORS:

  1. Funky schedule on Tuesday, then back to normal.

  2. Reminder to pay trip fees promptly if you are going on trips such as U16s/EHS. Anna has to chase down money/pay bills for those things and it makes her grumpy to have to heckle people.

  3. Scholarship applications for end-of-season stuff due today, please. You got an email about it.

  4. Different events —> different training needs. Advocate for yourselves.

  5. SuperTour Finals: this is a high-level event (it’s kinda the spring version of US Nationals, and actually the happening in Lake Placid at the end of March. More info here. Anna and Audrey are already going to wax for the GRP and would consider taking a handful of juniors along. This event is only really appropriate for those U18s who are headed for JNs or were near-misses. Whether or not you’re racing, it could be fun to go over (no team travel for spectating—on your own) for the weekend races and cheer! Usually there are some World Cup skiers there and rumor has it there may even be some Norwegians coming over.

  6. Racing weekend of March 22-23: more info above in the “everyone” section—take a look!

  7. Invoicing: we largely caught upon sending invoices, so please try to catch up on paying them!

  8. No hours on the training plan because it’s a silly time of year to be thinking much about hours, and also impossible to calculate them with people going all different directions.

U14s:

  1. WOW great work to all who raced at the BKL Festival!

  2. Morning practice Tuesday, then back to normal.

BKL:

  1. WOW great work to all who raced at the BKL Festival!

BIATHLETES:

  1. Normal practice times this week.

  2. Race opportunity (JRs/U14s):

    • Club Championships at home on March 22 & 23. Info here

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  1. Comp masters, you have WEDS instead of Thurs practice this week due to both coach availability and a grim weather forecast. Apologies to those of you who can’t make the switcheroo—it’s the best we can do this week!

Or this clunky embedded version:

Sometimes we work on not taking ourselves too seriously.

Our juniors and U14s enjoyed a beautiful ski back from Highland Lodge last week—we’re so lucky!

Craftsbury is always the best-dressed club at the BKL Festival!
